Academic/Professional Experience and Achievements: 

Anna Mazanik graduated from Moscow State University and got her MA in History from Central European University. In 2009 she joined the PhD program with a project 'Sanitation and urban environment in Moscow, 1880-1917' that studies the understanding of purity and pollution, the agency of the sanitary reform and the translation of scientific and technological knowledge into urban planning and political projects. She was a visiting fellow at the Institute of the History of Medicine, Johns Hopkins University in 2012 and at Darmstadt University of Technology in 2013. Her research interests include urban history, history of medicine, science and technology, environmental history and modern history of Eastern Europe.
