Her dissertation, Restoring the City’s Health: Medical Ecumenism and Public Health in Late Antiquity (provisional doctoral dissertation title) focuses on the way in which urban communities cope with disease and on the way in which health is embedded within medical, legal, and social discourses, thus offering valuable insight into social practices. Her research interests include history of medicine, history of public health, medicine in late antique Alexandria and Constantinople, urban centers in the Eastern Mediterranean, and discourse on health and disease.
